Police Arrest Man Suspected of Robbery, Destruction of Property at Long Park

Reportedly one of his associates allegedly struck a woman, another carried a gun

On July 23, Prince William Police apprehended the suspect wanted in connection to the robbery at James Long Park, located at 4603 James Madison Highway in Haymarket, July 15 around 11 p.m. The suspect, Jorge Antonio Pezoa Cruz, 20, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and destruction of property.

July 16 at 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a reported robbery at James Long Park. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 17-year-old male, was at the park with a woman when they encountered three other individuals, one of whom was Jorge Antonio Pezoa Cruz.

The accused and his associates reportedly confronted the victim, and during the encounter, struck the victim in the head. 

The assailants then took the victim's bag, which contained a wallet and money. The suspects also caused damage to the victim's vehicle before leaving the scene.

One of the other suspects was allegedly armed with a weapon. 

The female who arrived with the victim voluntarily left with the suspects. She was later located by officers, unharmed.

Following the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Jorge Antonio Pezoa Cruz. However, initial attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.

The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to search for the accused and work to identify the two other suspects involved in the incident, described only as black males.

The court date is pending, and information regarding his bond is currently unavailable.
