Fatal Crash Investigation – Prince William Officers responded to the area of Centreville Road and Leland Road in Manassas (20111) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian, April 13, at 10:23 p.m.
The investigation revealed a 9- year-old boy left his home and was running in the roadway, across Centreville Road when he was struck by a passing motorist driving a 2012 Honda Civic that was traveling north.
"At the time of the crash, the pedestrian was not in a designated crosswalk or safe crossing area," said Sgt. Erin Noble. "The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and was not injured."
According to Noble, bystanders immediately began performing CPR until the child was transported to an area hospital where he later died.
Following the investigation, the driver of the Honda, identified as Jacinto Josue Ezequiel Jacinto Morales was charged. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.
Charged on April 13: [No photo available] Jacinto Josue Ezequiel Jacinto Morales, 30, of Centreville, was charged with driving without a license, his third offense.
His court date is pending. He has been released on a summons.
