Bristow Man Charged with Reckless Driving; Passenger Killed

Virginia State Police charged Jonathan S. Wieland, 35, of Bristow with reckless driving following a Dec 10 accident that killed a 33-year-old Fredericksburg man on I-85 north in Dinwiddie County.

State Police confirmed Eliseo Robles-Hernandez, the victim, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Wieland's car, a 2008 Ford F-150, ran off the road at milemarker 46 3:55 p.m. Thursday, striking several trees before coming to a rest on an embankment.

The driver sustained serious injuries, resulting in air transportation to VCU Medical Center. Wieland was wearing his seatbelt.

Police said speed and alcohol  were not factors int he crash.
