Manassas, Virginia: ARTfactory has announced the promotion of Talya R. Conroy to the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mirroring her previous role as Executive Director, Conroy will be responsible for providing direction and leadership of the organization, overseeing the operations and the company’s employees, and focusing on the growth and development of the ARTfactory.

Prior to taking the helm of the ARTfactory in July 2022, Conroy served as Vice President of United Bank in Manassas. During that time, she focused on community engagement and supporting non-profits in the community.

When asked about the superior leadership Conroy brings to the organization, Dr. James Carr, Past President and current ARTfactory Board Director expressed, “When I hired Talya, it was clear she was a champion for the arts and was confident she could enhance operations at the ARTfactory. She immediately met with members of her staff and community members, listened to their concerns and ideas for change, and developed a measurable action plan for the Board of Directors.” Carr continues by stating, “Because of her outstanding vision for the arts, Talya was promoted to Chief Executive Officer for the Virginia ARTfactory. Stay tuned for more to come with this gifted leader.”

During her brief tenure, Conroy has enhanced interaction with members of Manassas City Government, business owners, and the growing diverse community exponentially. In addition, she and her team have plans to further enhance the theatre department, educational programs, and community engagement especially for youth.

“It is an honor to serve our community in this capacity. I am humbled by the trust the Board of Directors has in me, and incredibly thankful to the ARTfactory staff, volunteers, and patrons for all that they do for our amazing organization," said Conroy. "I always like to say we are just getting started, and I cannot wait to see what the ARTfactory has in store for us in the many years to come.”

The ARTfactory is located at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, VA 20110 and is open Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, visit the ARTfactory website at www.virginiaartfactory.org
