Police Arrest Manassas Woman for Assault, Attack with Caustic Substance

The assault followed a domestic altercation

MANASSAS, Va. — July 20 at 1:32 a.m., Prince William County Officers responded to a residence in the 9200 block of Amelia Court in Manassas (20111) in response to an assault.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the accused, Yesi Carolina Alegria Valenzuela, 34, of 8659 Bruton Parish Court in Manassas, went to the above residence, where a verbal altercation escalated with the victim, a 31-year-old man.

During the confrontation, the accused retrieved a knife, leading to a struggle that resulted in injuries to both parties. In addition to the knife, the accused also used pepper spray against the victim and struck him. At one point, another occupant of the home attempted to intervene, but the accused physically prevented the victim from leaving the room. After the incident, the parties eventually separated, and the police were subsequently contacted.

Minor injuries were reported by both the accused and the victim. Following a thorough investigation, Yesi Carolina Alegria Valenzuela was arrested and charged with assault with a caustic substance, abduction and assault.

As of now, the court date is pending, and the suspect is being held without bond.
