Police Arrest Manassas 17-Year-Old for Malicious Wounding

The juvenile is accused of knifing two young people

Police arrested a 17-year-old Manassas boy, Wednesday, for wounding two other juveniles with a knife. 

Sept. 13, Prince William County Police Officers concluded an investigation into a Sept. 2 assault that occurred near the 10400 block of Paradise Court in Manassas, just after midnight.

According to police, the investigation revealed there was an ongoing dispute between a group of juveniles and young adults. The parties agreed to meet in the aforementioned location where an altercation ensued.

During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife and began waving it before making contact with an 18-year-old male. As the parties were dispersing, he threw the knife, striking a 17-year-old male in the back. 

When officers arrived they found the accused was suffering from injuries to the face. 

The accused and both victims were treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A 15-year-old female, who was also involved in the altercation, did not require medical attention. 

Sept. 13, following the investigation, police arrested the accused, identified as a 17-year-old male of Manassas, whose name is being withheld due to his age. 

He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, malicious wounding, and assault & battery.

His court date is pending. He is being held at the juvenile detention center.
