Preliminary results are in for the Prince William County elections, and they show Democrats sweeping most of the county, with Republicans gaining ground in Brentsville.
With 99% of precincts reporting, Deshundra Jefferson-D is the projected winner for Chair of the Board of County Supervisors, having defeated Republican Jeanine Lawson by a slim margin.
Incumbent School Board Chair At-large Babur Lateef looks to have won his seat, winning nearly 50% of the vote in a three-way race.
Republican Tom Gordy will become the next Brentsville Supervisor. Republican Erica Tredinnick will replace Adele Jackson as the next Brentsville School Board member.
Otherwise, this was a good year for incumbents.

Democrat Deshundra Jefferson beat Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine Lawson-R in a close race. Jefferson promised to bring the county together and work with those on both sides of the aisle.

Babur Lateef has now been elected three times to school board chair. He has provided teachers with consistent salary increases. Dr. Lateef had the support of the Democratic Party.
BRENTSVILLE- While Democrats overall won the day, the Republicans had some victories in the Brentsville and Gainesville districts.

Erica Tredinnick, who had the support of the Republican party, beat Democrat Adele Jackson by a narrow margin. Jackson supported collective bargaining and was a moderate voice on the board.

The school board gained one seat for a Republican as Erica Tredinnick (Brentsville) will replace Adele Jackson, who served one term on the board. However, Democrats still control the board.
New members include Tracy Blake (Neabsco), replacing Diana Raulston, who did not run for reelection. In Occoquan, RM "Richard" Jessie will replace his wife Lilly Jessie, who did not run for reelection. Ms. Jessie is the longest-sitting member on the board.
School board members do not technically run as a party candidate, we are representing the support that each candidate received from one of the major parties.
