Members of the Braemar Community in Bristow will join together, Saturday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m. for a nature walk and rally. The event will take place along the Braemar Nature Trail, on the site of Dominion Energy’s proposed Blue Line, a possible path on the Nokesville-Bristow 230kV Transmission Line Project to which the community is staunchly opposed.
WHAT: Braemar Say "No" to Dominion Energy Rally & Nature Walk
WHO: Save Braemar Coalition, which is composed of concerned neighbors + sympathetic elected representatives
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m.
WHERE: Rob Roy Pavilion in Clarey Brook Park (12751 Rob Roy Way, Bristow) and Braemar Nature Trail
WHY: Dominion Energy’s proposed Route 5/Blue Line on the Nokesville-Bristow Transmission Project would carve through the center of the Braemar Community.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: All community members have been asked to WEAR GREEN and will walk together behind a ‘Save Braemar’ banner down the Braemar Nature Trail to the rally point.
SPEAKERS INCLUDE: Va. State Sen. Danica A. Roem, State Sen. David Bulaski, Greg Reeder, president of the Braemar Home Owners Association and member of the Braemar HOA Ad Hoc Development Committee. Speakers will address the community in the green space that Dominion Energy will clear/cut for construction if the Blue Line is approved.
ABOUT THE BLUE ROUTE: The route would erect 120ft transmission towers close behind homes, demolish acres of native green spaces, eliminate walking paths used by students to get to and from school daily, and pose other yet unknown risks to the community. The community is rallying together against this outcome.
