Manassas, VA – ARTfactory’s Pied Piper Theatre will present "Into the Woods," the Tony Award-winning musical by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim. The production will be performed in the Wind River Theater at the ARTfactory where it will be staged in the round, creating a feeling of intimacy with the actors as they perform directly in the audience’s line of sight.
"Into the Woods" tells the tale of a Baker and his wife, who in their quest to have a child, make a bargain with a vengeful witch. The pair find themselves on a journey through the woods where they encounter a host of familiar fairytale characters including Cinderella, Jack, Little Red and the seductive wolf, Rapunzel, and a prince (or two), and more. The characters all seek to fulfill their deepest wishes and are ultimately forced to experience the unintended consequences of their actions.
One of Sondheim’s most popular musicals, "Into the Woods" reimagines the happily-ever-after endings of the traditional storybook characters and explores the consequences of daring to “get what they want.” Into the Woods is a masterful, musical journey for audiences of all ages.
Directed by David Johnson, the cast includes Aiden Brennan, Erin Rigby, Chloe Stevenson, Logan Bintz, Glenna Moore, JJ Calavas, Kaitlyn Byrdy, Petra McMahan, Ellie Bowling, Vaughn Schweitzer, Maya Vilchik, Isabella Lacson, Amelia Robertson, Alexis Cottrell, Casey Williams, Anthony Palladino, Deen Lateef, Ysabella Nicastro, Parker Bowling, Sara Lepore, Kaylee Tilch, Juliet Durham, Betsy Woodward, Grace Mulligan, and Keaton Brennan.
